Day 5 in Korea - Gwanghwamun Square, Cheongyecheon Stream, Insadong, Seoul Station, AREX, Incheon Airport

It was the last day we're in Korea.

Cuaca kat luar masih hujan lagi, tapi tak berapa lebat. Kalau ikut itinerary hari ni kita pergi ke 63 Building in Yeouido tapi nampaknya terpaksa dibatalkan. Lagipun, souvenirs kita belum habis beli . So me and my hubby decided untuk pergi ke Insadong sekali lagi.

We were supposed to check out pukul 11.00am and since kita dah siap-siap packing malam sebelumnya, kita pun keluar sekejap dalam pukul 8.00am. Jalan kaki ke Gwanghwamun Square untuk snap few photos.

19.  GWANGHWAMUN SQUARE

The Gwanghwamun Square is located at the center of Sejong-ro which connects Gwanghwamun Gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Cheonggye Square. Dekat je within walking distance.

The square is divided into the sections, “Recovering the History of Gwanghwamun Gate Plaza”, “Reenacting Yukjo Street Plaza”, “Korea Main Plaza”, “Civil Participation Urban Culture Plaza”, “Downtown Plaza” and “Cheonggyecheon Stream Connector”.

Tengah syok-syok kitorang anak beranak ambil gambar, sekali datang angin yang kuat... sampai patah payung. Apalagi, gasak ketawa macam nak rak kat tengah-tengah square ni.

Btw, time ni memang sejuk gila bertambah-tambah lagi dengan angin ...brrrr....

20.  CHEONGGYECHEON STREAM

Direction to Cheonggyecheon Stream : Dari Gwanghwamun Square, lintas jalan kat junction Kyobo Building. Jalan terus sampai nampak Spring Tower yang macam cengkerang siput.

Tempat ni, kalau ada siapa-siapa perasan, ada dalam episode 9 "The Inheritors". Lebih cantik di kala malam hari...

Fyi, Cheonggyecheon Stream is an 8.4 km long, modern public recreation space and the it starts from Cheonggye Plaza and passes under a total of 22 bridges before flowing into the Hangang River.

Dari sini kita terus jalan kaki melalui Jonggak ke Insadong. Oleh kerana hujan, kita masuk subway dan ikut exit 3.

Lepas shopping dengan kadar pantas, we returned to the apartment via subway to pick up our bags.

21.  AREX EXPRESS TRAIN

Ada beberapa cara untuk ke Incheon Airport dari Seoul. Salah satunya ialah dengan menaiki AREX. Tapi AREX ni ada dua, train biasa atau non stop Express.

Untuk menaiki AREX Express, perlu pergi ke Seoul Station dan naik ke atas dulu. Ikut signboard AREX dan turun di B2 untuk beli tiket. Lepas tu perlu turun ke B7 untuk naik train which will take 43 minutes to reach Incheon International Airport.

22.  INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Turun dari AREX, naik ke tingkat 3 untuk ke Departure Hall.

Otw nak masuk ke Boarding Gate, terserempak dengan Walk of the Royal Family ni...

23.  PARIS BAGUETTE

So sementara tunggu boarding, kita lepak jap kat Paris Baguette ni and we chose egg tarts and plain donuts untuk alas perut coz we've already ordered inflight meals.

Fyi, Korea’s largest bakery chain Paris Baguette has earned halal certification from the Korea Muslim Federation (KMF). The KMF’s certificate is acceptable only in Korea, but the firm believes that recognition will make it easier for the company to win halal status in major Muslim countries.

 Btw, sepanjang di Korea bercawan-cawan kopi I beli sebab I memang addicted to it! 

24.  BANANA MILK

Iklan sekejap...:) 

This Binggrae's Banana Flavoured Milk is a must try! Tak lengkap kalau pergi Korea kalau tak minum ni ye... Boleh beli kat mana-man convenient store. Ada juga Strawberry flavor but I lagi preferred yang banana.

We departed from Incheon around 4.20pm and landed at LCCT at 10.30pm.

So that's all my story untuk trip kali ni. To tell you the truth, 5 days is way too short...  We have to come back here soon! In Sha Allah!

Day 4 in Korea - ITX Cheongchun, Nami Island, Petite France, Saffron Restaurant, Myeongdong

Pagi-pagi lagi dalam pukul 7.00am kita dah gerak ke subway station menuju Cheongnyangni. Nak naik ITX ke Nami Island.

14.  ITX-CHEONGCHUN

Untuk ke Nami Island, we took the high-speed train - ITX. Tiket kita dah siap-siap beli online tapi tu cuma resit je. Untuk tukar pada tiket yang ada seat number, kena gi kaunter. Tapi sampai je kat Cheongnyangni, melilau jugak nak cari kaunter tiket ITX ni. Rupa-rupanya kena naik atas dulu dan tap T-Money untuk keluar. Nanti tengok sebelah kiri, kat situ lah kaunter tiket tu. Dah ambil tiket, masuk semula dan lalu kat pagar yang ada tulis ITX.

Tunggu Gapyeong City Tour Bus di bus stop depan Gapyeong Station, tak payah lintas jalan... Took the 9.10am bus to Nami Island. Fares KRW5000 per adults /KRW3000 per child. Btw, ticket ni boleh guna lagi untuk ke Petite France later.

15.  NAMI ISLAND a.k.a. NAMISEOM a.k.a. NAMINARA REPUBLIC

Untuk ke Nami Island, kena beli Entry Visa berharga dulu sebelum naik ferry ni. Harga KRW8,000 per adult / KRW4000 per child.

A foggy Nami Island

5 minutes ferry ride, sampailah ke Nami Island. This Island was formed as a result of the construction of the Cheongpyeong Dam. It is a half moon shaped isle, and on it is the grave of General Nami, who led a great victory against the rebels in the 13th year of the 7th king of the Joseon Dynasty, King Sejo (reign 1455 ~ 1468).

A special feature of Nami Island is that there are no telephone poles. This is because all electric wires were built underground to keep the natural feeling of the landscape.

Yang best nyer, sepanjang kami di Nami Island ni kita dengar lagu-lagu Melayu dimainkan. All the time... Bangga la pulak! Lagu Dato' Siti ada, Dato' M Nasir, Najwa Latif dan banyak lagi.

Ada juga kedai makanan halal yang popular di sini tapi kita tak pergi sebab dah bawa bekal. Budak-budak ni bukannya nak makan kimchi bagai ni. Makan di bangku yang disediakan berlatarbelakangkan pemandangan Pulau Nami yang indah lagi best!

Lebih kurang pukul 12.30pm, naik return ferry dan Gapyeong City Tour bus semula at 1.15pm untuk ke next destination : Petite France

16.  PETITE FRANCE

Ok, main reason nak pergi tempat ni ialah sebab ia salah satu dari filming location untuk Secret Garden! My all time favorite. Dan Running Man episode 40 dan Beethoven Virus pun pernah filming kat sini. Tempat ni tak berapa jauh dari Nami, kira-kira 20 minit bus ride. Entrance fee is KRW8,000.

Operating Hours for Petite France is at 09:00-18:00 .

The village contains a memorial hall dedicated to Saint-Exupery, the author of the celebrated French novel, Le Petit Prince (1943) and that is why it's called the Little Prince theme park. It also has a gallery displaying sculptures and paintings of le coq gaulois (the Gallic rooster), the national symbol of France; Orgel House where a 200-year-old music box plays a sweet melody; a souvenir shop; and many other locales where you can experience French culture.

Selain melihat keunikan bangunan di sini, ada juga bilik permainan disediakan untuk pengunjung. So sementara menunggu next bus untuk ke subway station, sempat lah melayan budak-budak ni buat sand paper art yang bertemakan Little Prince.

Dari Petite France, we took the same Gapyeong City Tour bus at 3.40pm but this time to Cheongpyeong Station to catch the ITX. Transferred train at Cheongnyangni Station, then plan turun di City Hall jalan kaki ke Myeongdong tapi hujan la pulak. So turun balik ke subway and make a transfer at Seoul Station untuk ke Myeongdong Station.

17.  SAFFRON RESTAURANT

Dinner kali ni barulah kita try makanan Arab. Saffron ni terletak di tingkat bawah Ibis Hotel, Myeongdong.

Harga kat restaurant ni agak mahal, standard fine dining. But it had a very cozy Arabic ambiance. Tempat makan pun ada tutup dengan langsir terasa macam VIP giteww. Dengarnya PM Najib pun pernah makan kat sini sebelum ni... :)

Ramai yang recommend Beriani so kita pun try lah. Malangnya rasa Beriani tu tak berapa nak suit tekak kami anak beranak....maybe sebab kitorang ni anak jati Johor, so dah biasa makan Beriani Gam yang jauuuhh lebih sedap dari ni kot.... hehehe!

Masa order tu kita tengah lapar, so semua nak. Last-last tak habis kerana potion untuk satu pinggan adalah sangat banyak hokeh! Makan 5 orang dalam KRW120,000 kalau convert nearly RM400.


Alhamdulillah rezeki...

18.   MYEONGDONG

Akhirnya, tibalah masa untuk shopping cosmetic products di area Myeongdong. Bersemangat ni! Unfortunately, it never stop raining that night. So tak dapek lah makcik nak shopping beriya-iya sakan  :(

Fyi, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, Myeong-dong was listed as the ninth most expensive shopping street in the world...

Kat Myeongdong ni ada banyak kedai-kedai yang jual Korean beauty products seperti Nature Republic, Tony Moly etc. I borong face masks untuk bagi kat my friends back home. Terbeli juga Skin79 BB Cream coz review kata that is the best BB cream in Korea.

Tapi yang I paling suka adalah Banila Co's Prime Primer! Best!

Dan budak-budak ni beli some K-Pop stuff...


Everysing Myeongdong

Since hujan semakin lebat dan kasut pun dah mula masuk air, kita decided untuk balik ke apartment. Plan untuk jalan kaki ke Cheongyecheon Stream dan Gwanghwamun Square terpaksa cancel.

Tapi souvenir tak habis cari lagi, camne ni? .... Ahhh, nanti la fikir...
